Do you love the exquisiteness of the Berkshires?  Join professional staff from the Berkshires Natural Resources Council for a two-part program: Second session on Thursday, August 25 guided walk at Parsons Marsh.

Join BNRC staff to learn about the work of the Berkshire Natural Resources Council whose mission is to preserve and protect the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the Berkshires for public benefit. BNRC staff will highlight The High Road, which is a long-term initiative to make connections from towns to trails along with clusters of conservation land, allowing hikers to explore the scenic Berkshires.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $3 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.

On Thursday, August 25, in preparation for the month of Elul, take a deep breath and join us for a late morning walk in the beauty of the natural world together with BNRC’s Mariah Auman, Community Conservation Manager and Charlotte Hood, Volunteer and Outreach Assistant at the Parsons Marsh reserve in Lenox.  We’ll enjoy the 1/3-mile accessible trail that winds through an open meadow to a small pond before transitioning to the boardwalk and forested wetland.  Learn about the natural history of this reserve and observe the ridge where the first section of The High Road is now open to the public. BNRC staff will also describe the different strategies for conservation.
See listing on August 25 for complete information.
