The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires' Connecting with Community series will be joined by Pittsfield Police Chief, Michael Wynn, for "Israel: Yesterday and Today."

As part of the Anti-Defamation League's Northeast Counter-Terrorism Seminar (NCTS), law enforcement executives are selected to spend 8 days in an immersive program with their Israeli counterparts from the Israeli Defense Forces, Israeli National Police, and Intelligence Services.  During the course of the program, participants are exposed to security, surveillance, investigative and community outreach strategies.  In addition, participants are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of historical, cultural, and social experiences with their counterparts ad Israeli citizens.

Chief Wynn was in the NCTS in January, 2013 and it was a life and career changing experience.  He will share some of his observations and lessons learned as well as photos taken by members of the American contingent.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
