Barbara Greenspan Shaiman walked through the gates of Auschwitz with her daughter and grandchildren for the second time in November 2025. She had made that difficult journey once before once before, in 1989, with her mother, who survived the infamous death camp, and her father, who had worked for Oskar Schindler.
Join Barbara to hear how her family story inspired her creation of Champions of Caring, an organization that promotes social justice among young adults. Over 10,000 students in the Greater Philadelphia Region and Cape Town South Africa have participated in her program. She recently completed a documentary The Coral Ring Legacy with Henry Nevison, an Emmy Award winning filmmaker, which recently had its international premier in Regensburg, Germany, where she was born.
Barbara’s work as a social activist, author. national speaker and founder of Champions of Caring focuses on making the world a kinder place and helping others things about how they can be a mensch.

Advance lunch reservations are required and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 on Wednesday before 9 a.m. Suggested donation of $3 for adults over age 60. $7 for all others.
