The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community program presents "Approaching 100 Years of Chamber Music at South Mountain Pittsfield."

Learn about this hidden Berkshire jewel with Executive Director Lou Steigler.  Lou will explain the 100 year old mission of South Mountain Concerts that continues to this day with its rich and local history.  He will share upcoming programs and relate some anecdotal stories of performances and artists who have appeared and graced the stage.

Located in Pittsfield, South Mountain Concerts is a presenter of chamber music concerts each year during early fall. Founded in 1918 through the vision and generosity of the American patroness of music, Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge, South Mountain has presented over the years some of the world’s leading chamber music ensembles and soloists.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
