The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community welcomes Michelle Lopez, executive director of the Berkshire Immigrant Center for "Educating the Community about Immigrants in the Berkshires, Then and Now". Michelle will be discussing the history of the Berkshire Immigrant Center, its mission, and what the center is doing/has been doing this year.  She will provide information about the scope of BIC's services.

Michelle Lopez came to the Berkshires from Brandeis University, where she was assistant director of study abroad. Having lived in Havana for several years running a student exchange program, Lopez, who is fluent in Spanish, is experienced in navigating challenging government agencies.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
