College Scholarships for Jewish Students

Jewish Federation of the Berkshires offers scholarship awards that normally range from $500-$1000 for Jewish* students who are accepted or currently enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States (or associated with a U.S. institution). It's easy to apply—we will consider your single application for either or both of the scholarships for which you meet the eligibility requirements described below. Scholarship award decisions will be announced in May.

* Having at least one Jewish parent and self-identifying as being Jewish.

 

The Henry Simkin and Frances Simkin Schiller and Dr. Stanley and Faye Simkin Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior who has demonstrated high academic scholarship as well as leadership and participation in the Berkshire Jewish Community. To be considered, student must be a resident of and/or attend a school in Berkshire County, and student's family must be a current contributing donor at any level to the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires.

 

Sandra Kronick Smith College Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or student attending college or vocational/technical school, who is a resident of Berkshire County and identifies as a woman. Applicant must demonstrate financial need and show evidence they are of good character, hard working, and possess a good work ethic.

Submission Deadline and Notification

The scholarship application for the upcoming academic year will open in January and must be completed no later than April 24. The Scholarship Committee meets to review the applicaitons and considers each application for the funds for which the applicant is eligible. Notification of awards or denial of scholarships is typically in May.
