The 49th annual Hilda Vallin Feigenbaum Memorial Foundation Lecture will be held on Sunday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Anshe Amunim. The speaker will be Howard Dean, previously the governor of Vermont and chairman of the Democratic National Committee

Dean’s topic will be “Election 2016:  Which Path Will America Choose?,” a Washington insider’s look at the future of the presidency and makeup of the House and Senate for the next four years and beyond.  The lecture, sponsored by the Temple Anshe Amunim Feigenbaum Lecture Endowment, is free and open to the public.

Howard Dean, former DNC chairman, presidential candidate, six-term governor, and physician, currently serves as a senior strategic advisor and independent consultant focusing on the areas of healthcare and energy issues.  He is a frequent contributor to MSNBC and is the founder of Democracy for America.

About the Guest Speaker

Dean’s campaign for the presidency and subsequent four years as DNC chair provided him with both an insider's view and a reformer's commitment to the economy, foreign trade policy, and international relations. His stewardship of the Democratic Party began in 2005 and continued through the inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2009.

Dean currently serves on the Board of the National Democratic Institute, a democracy building organization chaired by former Secretary of State Madeline Albright. He has extensive experience in Southeastern Europe including in Ukraine, Moldova, and the Balkans. He also has an extensive knowledge of Iraqi and Iranian affairs, and has spent time in China and Myanmar as a result of his National Democratic Institute activities.  He has been active in anti-human trafficking efforts in Asia and in the United States.

After achieving national prominence in his bid for the Democratic nomination for president, Governor Dean founded Democracy for America. Since 2004, Democracy for America has grown to over a million members who  work at the grassroots level to elect fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates to all levels of government.
